Tottenham hotspurs have completed the
signing of Southampton midfielder Victor Wanyama on a five-year contract.
The 24-year-old becomes their first signing
this summer ahead of the 2016-17 campaign.
Wanyama had only had 12 months left
on his deal at St Mary's Stadium and has joined Spurs in a £13.5 million.
The move sees Wanyama link up with
former Saints manager Mauricio Pochettino, who brought him to England from
Celtic in a £12.5m deal back in July 2013.
Last season Tottenham finished third
to ensure they automatically qualified for the group stages of the champions
league competition while Southampton’s sixth finish will allow them to play in
the Europa League.
