Floyd Mayweather beats Andre Berto this morning to mark the end of his boxing career - before declaring he WILL retire.
The
Money Man was indeed, rarely troubled by his opponent who celebrates a record of (30-4) at the MGM Grand in Las
Vegas as he equalled Rocky Marciano's 49-fight unbeaten record.
Afterwards, he insisted his career was over and he's not tempted by a crack at a 50th, a clear expectation of his fans and the reality behind his career.
The unbeaten Floyd Mayweather Jr. improves to 49-0 with a
unanimous-decision victory over former champion Andre Berto (30-4)
During his press conference after the much anticipated fight,
Floyd Mayweather gavea one hell of a long speech touching on his ambitions as a kid, how he’s done everything he wanted to achieve and that he hopes his records are beaten.
Floyd taking thanked those who’ve influenced his career.
In particular, he’s praised three of his former opponents who have since passed away.
While he received a standing ovation when he left the ring, everything sounds to him like a man who’s happy with his career and ready to leave the stage.
Mayweather thanked God and the fans for the victory and added that Berto has heart.
"My career's over. It's official," Mayweather said in the ring.
Floyd says his intention now is to develop fighters, meaning he’s finished in the ring.
“I’ve accomplished everything in the sport,” he explained.
“Now it’s time to help these young fighters.
"You've got to know when to hang it up."
'Am close to 40."
Meanwhile ! Not everyone was impressed by the action tonight, as noticed .....!!! Manny Pacquiao was busy doing his own thing while Floyd was in the ring, playing kids piano while on his bed...! The 38-year-old seems to have no desire to reach a half-century as he
said in his in-ring interview: “My career is over, that’s official. “There’s nothing left to prove in the sport of boxing. “Now I just want to spend time with my family.”
There’s no denying his talent and his unblemished record, but his
risk-averse style will have turned off a lot of fans who surely love and admire the game of boxing shown in the era of Great Ali..
Then, the question that follows is 'How will you remember Mayweather?
Good great skilled tactician Or Slippery,Arrogant, full of pride Winner? Do you Thinks Floyd Mayweather has done the Boxing World Proud ..?
