By Mwangi K. Githinji.

Following the exit of England from the euro tournament taking place in France, Coach Roy Hodgson has announced that he has stepped down in a post-match press conference.
Hodgson aged 68,has been in charge of the English team for four years after replacing Italian Fabio Capello but has had a hard time in major tournaments where he has only won a mere three games out of 11 games.
"I'm sorry it will have to end this way but these things happen," Hodgson said adding that he hoped they would still be able to see an England team in a final of a major tournament soon.
"Now is the time for someone else to oversee the progress of a hungry and extremely talented group of players. They have done fantastically, and done everything asked of them."
England lost 2-1 against Iceland in their round of 16 match against Iceland.
Nevertheless Hodgson was supposedly out of contract at the end of the tournament and was to hold talks over its renewal.
