Manchester United have expressed their willingness to meet Borussia Dortmund's asking price for Henrikh Mkhitaryan of £31 million.
The Red Devils are said to have already submitted a £28m bid although Dortmund have publicly rebuffed bids for their star.
The German side has remained adamant that their star player will not leave the Signal Iduna Park until his contract is up next summer.
Mkhitaryan's agent Mino Raiola, has confirmed the Red Devils' interest in his client as he looks set to push the 27-year-old to Old Trafford.
Its believed that Dortmund may decide to sell if a bid in the region of £31m is offered, and United are said to be very close to matching their demands with their improved £28m offer.
