the lion that was shot dead |
by Stella Karino
Days
after a lion injured an elderly man along Mombasa Road, yet another
wild cat was on Wednesday spotted roaming in Isinya town, Kajiado
County, where it attacked a bodaboda operator.
The Kenya Wildlife Service
(KWS) officers deployed to capture the wild cat shot and killed the lion
following the dangerous strike.
The bodaboda operator was rushed to hospital where
he is nursing serious injuries.
According to reports, it is
believed that the lion escaped from the Nairobi National Park
before it was seen wandering along the Kajiado-Isinya road.
On March 18, a lion on the
loose caused anxiety among motorists and pedestrians along
Mombasa road near the City Cabanas footbridge.
At the sight of the big cat,
motorists started hooting and shouting frantically, scaring off the
beast which ran upon noticing danger.
It was later realized that in
the midst of the confusion, the big cat had attacked a 63-year old man
leaving him with a bone fracture and minor injuries.
