KENYAN GOVERNMENT TO BLAME FOR POST-ELECTION INJUSTICE

Post-election victims will now be left with a long life scar to remember. Human rights officer Ndungu Wainaina says that this is due to the victims blaming the injustice on the Government and not the International Criminal Court (ICC) which should be the contrary. Some of the IDP’s have faulted the ICC over poor investigations into the violence.

Witness accounts have been tampered with leading to their backing down and the interference of the Kenyan Government into the proceedings and evidence, as written in the ICC‘s final verdict report. Lead by James Kimani, the victims of the post-election
violence claim to have lost hope of ever being compensated. Kimani says that proper reconciliation will delay because injustice has not been achieved and they see no future in ever getting justice for loved ones lost and damages incurred.
