RUTO TO CHEER TEAM KENYA IN RIO

Deputy President William
Deputy President William Ruto
Ruto has travelled to Brazil to support the Kenyan team at the Olympic Games.

With just a day before the athletics program officially commences at the international spectacle, Kenya participates in several discipline athletics such as boxing, archery, judo, weight lifting, rugby and swimming.

Kenya is expected to get most of medals in the track and field events at the games and especially within the middle and short distance races such as the 800m, 1,500m, 3,000m steeplechase, 5,000m, and 10,000m for both men and women.

Mr. Ruto’s arrival comes amid a false start for team Kenya at the games. Already two boxers, plus the men and women sevens rugby teams have been eliminated from the games.

The Deputy President's support will not only boost the morale of the Kenyan athletes but will signal to the Brazilian Government that Kenya does value their relationship.
