Friday, February 25, on his Facebook page.
According to Hassan,

Hassan had a turbulent last few months in office as the opposition Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) organized massive protests against him and his commissioners.
Hassan and the commissioners were accused of graft
and planning to rig the August General Election in favour of the Jubilee Party.
Hassan and his team resigned in October 2016 in what
many termed as a victory for Raila Odinga and CORD.
