FRESH CHOLERA OUTBREAK IN TANA- RIVER COUNTY

At least six people, among them four children, have died of cholera at Dida Ade village in Tana- River County.

County health chief officer Hassan Komoro said the response and surveillance teams have been sent to combat further spread.

Public health officers have been put on high alert and have been instructed to promote public awareness around the county to stop the spread of the disease, in efforts to stop the spread of the outbreak in neighboring Kilifi, Garissa and Lamu counties through travellers between Mombasa and Garissa via Garsen and Mombasa and to Lamu via Minjila.

So far all restaurants have been closed down and vending of food in public places banned.
