11, 381 TO RECEIVE CONTROVERSIAL WAITIKI LAND TITLE DEEDS NEXT MONTH

About 11,381 land and property owners on the controversial 930-acre Waitiki farm in Likoni will next month be issued with title deeds.

This comes after land officers completed a survey on the disputed parcel.

Senior lands officials said yesterday they were transmitting data electronically and physically to the National Titling Centre in Nairobi's Ruaraka for processing of title deeds to be issued by President Uhuru Kenyatta on January 5.

Director of Physical Planning Augustine Masinde and Director of Surveys Cesare Mbaria, separately confirmed yesterday that action had now shifted to Ruaraka where the processing of titles had commenced.

Masinde, backed by Special Administrative Officer Joseph Kanyiri, was given a December 21 deadline to complete the survey on the Waitiki farm to ensure titles were ready.
