street kids begging for money
By Bentura Kwamboka

Am writing this article with a lot of bitterness to parents, schools and churches that send kids as young as 6 years old to streets to beg for contribution of certain projects in those institutions.

Have you ever thought of the risk you expose to these kids? Ever thought of this kid being hit by a car when begging for cash in heavy traffic jams? Being lured into drug distribution exercise? Being trafficked by unknown people in street lanes? I bet not and that’s why you allow them to go in streets.

Nothing hurts parents as seeing his or her child get lost or die due to such things; no parent is happy seeing his or her child begging for money

So why allow your kid suffer instead? It’s your responsibility as a parent to provide no matter what the situation.

Most of this time they go out in streets stopping cars for “nichangie sir” with this proformers  as they call it they are supposed to have their homework done and refresh   a bit after school.

Honestly the people who send this kids you might find them comfortably sitting waiting for them to come with their contributions the next morning or on Sunday at Sunday school.
Surely if churches and schools need some funds they need to call for harambee and not exploit this children because they have a bright future that awaits them.
