UoN CONTENDER AND 62 STUDENTS SUSPENDED

The University of Nairobi has suspended Babu Owino’s contender Mike Jacobs together with other 62 students for being involved in rioting and destruction of property during the recent students’ demonstration, that saw SONU offices burnt down and public properties worth shillings destroyed.

 In which a day after the riots, the university’s senate held a meeting and resolved to close the university.

The suspension of the students comes just a day after the Vice-Chancellor Professor Peter Mbithi held talks with Education Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiangi and his Interior counterpart Maj-Gen (Rtd) Joseph Nkaissery.
