As of Tuesday, six officers are yet to receive
their promotion letters.
Rift Valley Traffic boss Mary Omari, Fredrick Situma
of the reforms department, Coast divisional commander Noah Mwivanda, Jane
Kulalu and Police spokesperson Charles Owino are the six senior police officers
whose promotion is in dispute.
Interior CS Joseph Nkaissery along with Boinnet and
National Police Service Commission chairman, Johnstone Kavuludi, held a press
brief earlier on Tuesday, stating that there was no wrangling over the police
promotions and would review the promotions and harmonize the list before
announcing to the public.
Nkaissery has however refuted claims that members of
the commission are pulling in different directions due to vested interests and
blamed it on communication breakdown.
The confusion exposed a cold working relationship
between the commission and police headquarters.
