The High Court has declined to stop the Mombasa
County government from proceeding with the construction of a Sh9 billion
housing project.
Justice Njoki Mwangi gave the county government 21
days to respond to civil society groups that want the project stopped on
grounds that Mombasa residents were not consulted.
Mombasa Governor Hassan Ali Joho launched the
project earlier this year but it has been opposed by some local leaders.
