There was Drama in Nkubu, Meru when County Governor Peter Munya stormed out of a meeting convened by Deputy President William Ruto.
Deputy President  Ruto, who has been on the road in recent months consolidating support for the Jubilee Party ahead of the 2017 polls, had camped at the Council of Governors Chair  backyard to elevate  support for the new political outfit.

Addressing the meeting, Mr. Munya stated that he will not bow to political pressure aimed at making him stand with Jubilee in the next polls. He denounced the new Jubilee party and said he will not be forced to join any  party.

Munya further said that Come rain or shine, nobody, no matter their position, can force  him, to join a part and that in 2017 he will ask for votes under another party not Jubilee.

Following his statement, members of the public  who were in favour of the Jubilee Party agenda –jeered the Council Of Governors Chair prompting him to leave the meeting abruptly. However Hon Munya was also acclaimed by his supporter’s who said that Meru will not follow blindly any political formation without proper and wide consultations.
