Matatu operators in Nairobi have threatened to halt operations in the Capital on Thursday, if Governor Evans Kidero will not give back their parking licenses.
Kidero revoked the Public Service Vehicles' parking licenses on Wednesday, following a cry from business owners in the Central Business District (CBD) who vowed not to pay taxes, until the Matatus blocking their premises were cleared.
The entrepreneurs stated that Matatu operators were causing mayhem outside their businesses, prompting customers to avoid going into their stalls hence incurred losses.
The operators, however, dismissed the outrage by the complainants stating that they were all in businesses and the move was not justifiable.
The County Government implemented Kidero's directive and cleared the Matatus from illegal termini within the CBD, a gesture that caused the operators to hold demonstrations in the City.

Nairobi County Executive for Transport Mohamed Abdulahi earlier stated that the City only had five legal pick-up and drop off points, adding that all the others would be cleared immediately.
