Three
suspected gangsters yesterday night were killed during a shootout with police
on Kenyatta Avenue in Nairobi.
The gunmen
had been pursued by police from Kiliamani area where they are said to have
committed a robbery, according to Nairobi Police chief Japheth Koome.
They had
robbed a couple in a robbery incident on Chania Road and that is when they were
chased to town where they opened fire on police .A pistol and sixty rounds of bullets
were recovered from the slain men who were found with a vehicle believed to
have been stolen.
Koome said
they have intensified patrols around the city to curb crime and terror threats
after two ISIS suspects were arrested on Tuesday while planning a major attack
mainly targeting the public transport.
